In the year 2000, a tiny room at a small furry convention filled with people to hear a new social comedian and furry advocate speak for the first time. By the time it was over, he was booked to speak at another three conventions. And thus, it began...
Amadhia (“The Artist Formerly Known As Timothy Albee”) has been a part of Furry Fandom since the early 1990's. She is perhaps most well-known for the 2004 release of her experimental, animated short film, “KAZE: GHOST WARRIOR” (now continuing as the Illustrated Radio Drama, “KAZE: WINDS OF CHANGE” at HTTP://KazeGhostWarrior.com ).
"Samuel Conway is a chemist who holds a Ph.D. from Dartmouth and works in a laboratory in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina. He is also the chairman of Anthrocon, the world's largest Furry convention, held annually in Pittsburgh, PA. Known as "Uncle Kage" to his fans, he is an experienced raconteur who has performed on stage all around the country and even in such far-flung places as Germany, Australia, England and even the Czech Republic. He has been called by some an unofficial spokesperson for the Furry fandom since he has dedicated a good deal of time and energy to dispelling the myths and misconceptions surrounding the world of anthropomorphics. In what spare time he can find he likes to write and has published a number of stories in small-press titles, although he did break into the Big World in 1999 when his story "Tweaked in the Head" was included in "Flights of Fantasy," an anthology of bird-related SF tales assembled by Mercedes Lackey. He has since published stories in Ms. Lackey’s 2012 "Elemental Magic" and 2013 “Elementary” anthologies. His favorite convention activity is meeting with friends in the bar, and if you're inclined to ask he has a preference for semi-dry rieslings (Germany's Mosel Valley or Washington's Columbia Valley, neither older than 3 years) although he'll always settle for a nice cheap white zinfandel out of a box with a plastic spigot on the bottom."
We are happy to announce that we are back for year 2 of Arizona Fur Con and this year is going to be bigger and better than even last year. We plan on having more large events as well as some cool new ones. We are also moving to a bigger and better hotel to allow us growth and more programming possibilities.
Membership sales are now on sale and you can find them under the menu above or to the link on the right. Hotel room block will open shortly, we are working with the hotel on some special food pricing before we release the room block code.
Vendor hall sales will open by the end of July, we are still mapping out the space some to make sure we meet all the necessary fire codes.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask us, we want you to have an amazing time again this year.
