Rue Memorial

Recently, the Arizona fur community suffered the tremendous loss of Rue, a.k.a. Marissa Pummill.

We invite those in attendance to join a memorial with family, friends, and staff as we celebrate her life and support each other during this difficult time.

Rebecca Sharpe

Rebecca Sharpe (last name pronounced "Sharp") is a Scottish Irish artisan born in Arizona, raised in Idaho farming, working horses, landscaping, hunting, and now leaving a fur trail all over Michigan creating fursuits. "My dad and I would always make my Halloween costumes. Most memorable one was a centaur back in the 4th grade. Paper mache` horse back end, little bow and arrow, and little black ballet shoes, it was quite the sight. My went to my first costume contest later that night and took first place, receiving a giant bag of candy as my prize. It wasn't until 2007 I bought one of the only store bought costumes I would ever own. A 'deluxe' werewolf latex mask that I jazzed up with latex hands, faux fur accents, and a real silver fox tail. It was fun, but I wanted to keep with tradition and make my own costume. That adventure kicked off in August of 2008 when I came across someone online who had made a white tiger costume with following eyes and a moving jaw. It blew my mind and it got me hooked. Not long after I was creating a foam explosion in the house, proudly wearing my first partial around on Halloween. But like potato chips, I couldn't just make one..." Sharpe now lives in a small apartment solo-running "Sharpe Costumes" along with her husband of 3 years, regularly attending her township's events, local meets, and conventions in costume. She has been making costumes for a little over 5 years. "There's nothing more I'd rather do to be honest. It's tough, and you don't make much, but the joy from costuming in public or bringing someones dream to life is worth it. Brightening the world one smile at a time.. thats what being a fursuiter and fursuit maker means to me."

Frost.Bite

Celina also known in the fandom as Frost.Bite, was born in Glendale, Arizona in 1994 and raised and adopted by her grandparents along with her little sister. She has been drawing all her life, but started digital works back in late 2008/early 2009. She's completely self taught and has never taken any classes in her art career. She was first drawn into the fandom as well as the art world due to her love for werewolves. Being a huge werewolf fan, it led her to discovering artists such as Goldenwolf, Dark Natasha and Myenia who was and still is a huge inspiration to her and there she began into the world of digital and anthro that has now become a dream come true to work as an anthro and fantasy artist.

2 The Ranting Gryphon

In the year 2000, a tiny room at a small furry convention filled with people to hear a new social comedian and furry advocate speak for the first time. By the time it was over, he was booked to speak at another three conventions. And thus, it began...

Uncle Kage

"Samuel Conway is a chemist who holds a Ph.D. from Dartmouth and works in a laboratory in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina.  He is also the chairman of Anthrocon, the world's largest Furry convention, held annually in Pittsburgh, PA.  Known as "Uncle Kage" to his fans, he is an experienced raconteur who has performed on stage all around the country and even in such far-flung places as Germany, Australia, England and even the Czech Republic.  He has been called by some an unofficial spokesperson for the Furry fandom since he has dedicated a good deal of time and energy to dispelling the myths and misconceptions surrounding the world of anthropomorphics.  In what spare time he can find he likes to write and has published a number of stories in small-press titles, although he did break into the Big World in 1999 when his story "Tweaked in the Head" was included in "Flights of Fantasy," an anthology of bird-related SF tales assembled by Mercedes Lackey.  He has since published stories in Ms. Lackey’s 2012 "Elemental Magic" and 2013 “Elementary” anthologies.  His favorite convention activity is meeting with friends in the bar, and if you're inclined to ask he has a preference for semi-dry rieslings (Germany's Mosel Valley or Washington's Columbia Valley, neither older than 3 years) although he'll always settle for a nice cheap white zinfandel out of a box with a plastic spigot on the bottom."
